Hello Everyone,
I am new to the forum and I am looking for some advice as to how to fish starvation res. from the bank.
My son and I are planning to go to starvation res. tomorrow morning. We have never fished starvation and could use some tips.
Thank you

Fishing near the west end of the bridge is generally a good area to fish from the bank. Use traditional baits like a worm and marshmello, or power bait.

Thanks, I will try fishing there and see if I can catch some of the large trout I keep hearing about.

My son wants to fish for the small mouth bass and the walleye. Any clues as to where he could fish from the bank?

Welcome to the site Ladyfisher. We don't get a lot of members fishing from shore at Starvation but I think what was already mentioned is good advice. There is parking there but it is a fairly steep hike up and down, not long though. Rabbit gulch has better access but I think it is a pay area and access to deeper water is a bit of a hike. If this is your first trip to Starvation it will likely be a learning experience, so try and get a map of the area, that will help a lot. Look for areas that are rocky at the shoreline for smallmouth but walleye are another matter from shore. Good luck and let us know how you do.

I bought a map and have been studying it. I will let you know how we do. Hopefully the wind won't blow us off the lake to early!
Thanks

Talked to a fella that had walleye and he caught them from shore below the dam.
Just a thought and something you might want to try.

There are a few rattlers in the area so be carefull around the rocks etc.

For small mouth bass, walleye, and brown trout try long casts parallel to the shore about 6 ft out with a rapala SSR07 Shad Rap Baby Bass or Perch
or try a spinner rig or jig with a night crawler.
