Had a lot of fun this morning fishing clousers for bass and crappie also had a couple carp break off my 5x tippet. Caught probably 30 crappie all 12-14 in. And a bunch of small smallies.

Nice! Were you in a tube or a boat? Or were you fishing from shore? I have yet to catch a crappie and want to catch one. I have a fishing day on Friday. If I were to go to Deer Creek, how would I go about targeting crappies? Such as location, color, etc. PM me if you want!

Good job Trevor way to put a hurt on them crappie. I'm sure glad you didn't take a picture of all 30. You might have all salt Lake and Utah County down there. It was also nice meeting you up a little closer at the tackle swap. Looks like you caught them on the custom flies you tie. Good Job again.

A friend of mine was up there windsurfing the other day and said the water level has dropped quite quickly. I for one am not worried........there are some sweet spots on that lake when the water gets really low.[]

Those are SO dark! No wonder they call them Black Crappie! Is it sexy colors they are wearing? Most I've met are so silvery, but suppose water, envir conditions will change that.

Did you bait your jigs with a nightcrawler or were they just hitting the jig? Nice catch! I may go out early in the morning this month and try to catch some panfish so I can have a fish fry.

Jigs? Clouser minnows. No bait. But I have had luck in the past with gulp minnows and leeches.
