When do you think they will start spawning this year or is there even going to be a spawn?

Last week and the week before, from May 15 - 22, the white bass on Utah Lake had started their spawn and were schooling up at the mouth of the Provo River.

During that time there was some great action with anglers catching fish nonstop when the bite really got started. many who were fishing with double jig rigs consistently landed doubles. I personally noticed that the bite coincided with the Solunar calendar for our area. The bite really got going well about 5-6 hours before moon rise and the best times seemed to be an hour or so before dusk, but as that week moved along the bite didn't even start until after dark (as predicted by the Solunar calendar)

For example on May 15, the bite started around 6:00 or 6:30, but by May 22 it didn't start until 9:00 PM.

There could still be a good bite this weekend with the best times being the late afternoons and evenings.

It was great, since my sons got to experience some non-stop fishing.

The spawn is going on right now. The mouth of the Provo river is full of white bass at sunset. People are catching bucket full of them and you might get lucky and land some walleyes in the process.
Any size to the white bass this year?
