Anyone have advice for shore fishing at Willard? I have never been out there and am thinking of taking the kids this weekend.

So its been a few years since Ive shore fished but back when I did we use to head back behind the South marina theres a dirt road the goes around the dike and a few metal gates were you can park at.
The first metal gate is were we started there lots of mesquites so be prepared for that
once there we you should see the little beach in the back stay away from the beach its really shallow there but along the rocks the water get pretty deep. We used chicken livers & anchovies. Get your self some panty hose or a commercial product called Spawn Net & Magic String they sell it at Sportmans. Wrap up the Anchovies or livers in a ball hook your hook through the center and cast out as far as you can.
We use to bring in Wipers & catfish with the occasional carp good times [fishon]
