OK I went to CJ Strike on Memorial Day weekend, as my son had the Middle School State Track Meet in Meridian. We decided to spend a couple of days at CJ Strike when I got there I was shocked to find it ice free, but my son had packed these rather strange large fishing poles with us, so we thought we would give it a try. (If you know me you are aware that I almost exclusively ice fish[Wink] Wow what a great 24 hours we absolutely did well for perch and bluegill at Cottonwood. My wife and daughter were also catching quite a few fish. We decided to go for bass and went over near Cove and had an amazing couple of hours catching and releasing nearly 50 bass. Fished that night managing a few fish, but around 11:00 PM my son got a nice channel cat. The next morning we returned to Cottonwood and we did better for Crappie; I did manage one nice medium plate size one with a bunch of 5-6''. In all we caught five species of fish with a grand total of 268 fish, all caught and released!

I can assure you this is a rare summer entry; I will see you all in November. Well maybe I will fish a little more this summer[Wink]

Matt,

Bluegill were mostly of the 5'' variety with a couple of 6''. Beautiful fish though man they had several variations of colors.
