Went up to S&M today with my gf and my buddy and his lady. Got to the lake around 10 and braved the cold swift water of the creek and crossed over to the other side by the inlet. My gf started out with a yellow Tasmanian Devil and got one on her first cast and a second one a couple casts later. I tied on a Pink BH Bunny Leech and my buddy tied on a Brown CH Bugger. We both kept getting hits and then I hooked one and then he did. My girlfriend and I both ended the day with 5 rainbows and my buddy caught 3.

Not wanting to go home yet, me and my girlfriend headed up Mirror Lake Highway. The Provo is running higher and a lot murkier than two weeks ago. Went all the way up to Butterfly and worked my way down snapping photos along the way. Trial was the only lake with anybody fishing it. Can't wait to fish it next weekend!

I shall be waiting till next week for some good ice off action hopefully in the freezing cold water[Wink].

Thanks for the report. It sure got me jumping up and down our of my chair for the uinta but sucks for how much ice is left.

Yeah I wanted to fish Lost and Trial but my girlfriends back was hurting so it was a no go and hurry home. Can't wait for all of it to open up to go hiking to some of those beloved secluded spots!

Does the Uinta's really have "Ice Off" action? Seems the action is always good....that and a recent plant[Wink]

I too am looking forward to some pine tree camping, but I will wait till July[Smile]

Sure the Uintas have ice off. It's the best swimming of the year. Dogs look forward to it all winter and spring.[inline IMG_0031.JPG]And you can't keep these little trout off your hook even 30 seconds after the dogs leave the water.
[inline IMG_0024.JPG].On top off that it's a beautiful time to enjoy the mountains by yourself

They probably think your dog is a jumbo elk hair caddis splashing around [laugh].

Thanks! I was hoping these photos would turn out good with just shooting blind with my gopro. That one is definitely my favorite.

I took my Jeep yesterday and punched through the drifts all the way to the Hoover lake turnoff. I stopped at several of the lakes and fishing was slow until it warmed up a bit then it was great.
