We got on the water at about 7:15am or so - was surprised that there was only one other empty boat trailer in the parking lot.
Motored around west of the harbor and anchored up at the inlet. Fished for whities for about an hour or so with nothing then moved south a bit and fished out from the rocks, again nothing. Moved to the east side of the marina and tucked up in out of the wind. Landed a mudcat on a crawler then had a big channel get hung up in the anchor rope before breaking loose. Fishing slowed once more but the wind lessened so we went back around to the west and fished the inlet again. Finally got into the whities - small but fast and furious for about an hour. Caught 25 or so before calling it a day. Super glad to get the kids into some fish. I'll update tomorrow with pics. Marina packed when we left at 2:30 - people waiting for us to pull out to get our parking spot.
Lesson learned - no need to get up early for the fish but if you want a parking spot it will help.
