Went to CFP this morning, on the water by 6:30. Ran to the area Mike and I fished in the CFF tx, across from the beach. Tried topwater, crankbaits and Senko's with not a tap. Picked up the beaver I fished last weekend and started fishing. About 7, saw the line move, set the hook, bowed the rod. First thought was I stuck a log, again. The head shake said differently. It was a big fish, pulled, jumped, ran around the boat. I am trying to control the fish or at least , keep up, get the net and reel up so I can land it. Got her in the net, and put her on my hand held scale. Read 8#2oz. This is my personal best, by along shot. She had a hole in the lower lip, so I thank the other fisherman who released her. I did the same. Caught a couple more, then moved across the lake. The fish came out of 7-9 FOW. Sorry , no pic's, but my flip phone is not a smart phone. Someday , I'll join the modern world, new phone? Fishing stuff? New phone? Fishing stuff? Fishing stuff, screw the phone.
