Jeff usually fishes the Thursday night dogfight with me but he got stuck at work. I asked Jason if he wanted to go and of course he was in. We started on ledges and caught a few but missed way more than we hooked. Once it got real cloudy and windy we ran to a grassy flat and caught some better fish on blades. We did get pretty wet but it was better than sunburn. We stopped by a deep point and I hooked a good fish that came off after one jump. That seemed to be the only fish there until we castes out deeper and Jason hooks up and thought he had a catfish. Well when he thinks that it's almost always a kicker. Well this time was no different monster breaks water and nearly jumps into the boat!!!! I lipped her and removed the jig and noticed the tail of a huge shad sticking out. I didn't have scales but he caught an 8.05 in our last tournament and this fish was way fatter and a bit longer. I guessed it between 9.5 and 10. That was our last fish. Most fish were in 5 to 10 and water temps were 79-81.
