Just got back from Brownlee, here's an update:
- nearly at full pool & water is starting to bloom - 72 degree surface temp
- all the bass we caught were dinks under 12" - and we caught a bunch of those - sort of fun on ultra-light tackle.
- some guys were after crappie and caught buckets full all around 6" or so
- there was a tournament on 6/9 and the report I heard was that the winner weighted in at 12lbs for 5 fish. They certainly knew more about fishing Brownlee that we did. In general none of the old timers there had caught any (or many) bass over 12".
BUT... BUT... predictably.... we were told you could catch all the 16-18" smallies you wanted 2 weeks ago.
So - my advice to all of you - just ask me when I'm going fishing and then you go 2 weeks earlier - or 2 weeks later, that's when they will be biting!! Argh!!
