So this might be a really silly question, but I'm not sure what kind of fish this is. I thought it was a brown when I first saw it under water than I thought it was cutthroat. Once I netted it looked more like a rainbow.

Brown for sure!

Ya it just looked so different from the other browns I've caught. It seemed more "rainbow like" ha

that's a fish!

Any chance you caught it at Strawberry? There as been some controversy as to whether browns populate those waters in any significant number.

I believe your people actually call them "Cuttyrainbrowns." [laugh]

I've caught a couple of browns out of the Spanish Fork river that look just like that one. The head and the color of the fins are the giveaway, even though the spot pattern does look somewhat more like a cutt than a brown.

Ya the more I look back at it I can see it is a brown (mainly the red tip fins). the coloring and spots kind of threw me a bit. This was caught on the weber where I've caught Cutts before

I would go with Brown Trout

i still think its a fish

I am funny looking, is that good enough?

It ONLY looks like a Brown, not sure what any confusion would be [crazy] And I agree with Koch….it is a fish for sure!

Definitely a brown. I don't see anything that would make me think it was a bow or a cutt. Nice fish!

Still consider myself new to fly fishing. Didn't realize I would get so many rude smart ass comments. I'll keep things to myself for now on. Smile thanks

Nothing to do with flyfishing, it's just a question about the type of fish, it looks like a Brown and it is a Brown, no one busted on your fishing technique or what type of rod you throw or call you an Orvis dork.

don't get your waders in a wad. this board tends to be a little more relaxed then the main UT board, we were just having a little fun. out right insults and s*&^ slinging is not tolerated but a little pompous fun here and there is ok

keep sharing, 99.9% of the folks on this board are more than willing to go out of their way to help you with anything you need
