[ol][li]headed up to the gorge the 18th stopped in Evanston and was surprised to find that because of the problems at Powell decontamination was mandatory not a big deal took all of 10 minutes then on to the gorge. arrived to freezing temps and rain. but morning was beautiful so cleaned all the ice off the boat and out I went. fished lake trout the first day and got a few small Lakers . on the second day fished for Kokes. finding them wasn't a problem fished sheep creek/hide out and the ranch house found fish in 15 to 45 feet of water. orange an pink were the best colors. fishing was ok but the size was disappointing. went out early the next day to the farm house dropped down to 50 feet four some interesting action found pup Lakers . came up to 30' and game on 3.5 to 4 lbs. Kokes at last. Ended up with a nice limit an let the rest grow. all in all a great trip. wind was gusty at times but was manageable . it would come and go through out the day. [/li][li]

farm house is known as brinagers ranch or holms crossing it is in Wyoming. sheep creek ,and antelope are pretty good right now .

Thanks sheep creek and hide out will work fine for me. I have three boys under 10 so any fish will do. I don't plan on real hard fishing just untangling [:/]

you will have fun then the cold front that pushed through really slowed things down but the next little while it should go nuts up there

Those are some nice kokanee mtncat1. The wife and I headed for Starvation the same day (18th) the front had shut down the walleye fishing for us. Thursday we only caught a couple of small ones. Friday morning we headed to Strawberry to try the kokanee, they deffinately wanted to play. We were on the water by 0730 and set up two planner boards and run a couple down riggers as well. We had several double hook ups and one tripple hook up. Lost a few fish but ended up with our limit of kokes and were off the water by 1030. Filleted the kokes and threw several on the grill that evening. Our youngest son and his family joined us for the weekend to fish some walleye but when we mentioned the walleye bite was slow but the kokes at Strawberry were biting pretty good they decided to fish for the kokes. Sat. morning we headed back to Strawberry with both boats to fish for kokanee, they didn't disappoint. The grandsons had a blast catching their first kokanee. The kokes weren't as large as the ones at the Gorge but still nice running from 16 1/2 in. to 18 1/2 inches. I hardly ever fish Strawberry other than the DAV day held each year because we don't care to eat trout but the kokes are a different story. We will definately make a return trip again this summer. I have added a picture of our 7 year old grandson Kash and his limit of Kokanee caught on Sat. It was his first time fishing for the kokes.

that's awesome the first few days at the gorge had me wishing I was at strawberry. but then we finally got into the good ones. they still didn't run out line like the berry ones did
,a little sluggish from the cold I guess
