Jerry Breeden and I have known each other for some time now but have never fished together. We have talked about it but it just seemed something always came up and we never got to get it done. Jerry owns Cutthroat Lures and he has been nice enough to sponsor me with jigs, shakeys and blades as well as give a couple blades to each CFF tournament this year. emoThumbsup Today I gave him a call and told him I was going to go this afternoon and asked if he wanted to fill my back seat. For once he was able and we got together on the water at 10:30 this mid morning.

We fished my usual program of top water along the grass flats to start with and we could not muster up a smell from a bass. Getting the late start we did we went to plastics giving up on top water. Fishing craws and worms on t-rigs and shakeys along grass edges worked pretty good. Most of those in the grass came from 5 to 10 foot deep. We also hit several ditches and drops with the C-rig and cranks that proved to be a workable pattern as well. Our best fish came off these two programs. Most of those were in 15 to 20 foot range along drops and ridges.

We never really loaded the boat in any one place but it was very consistent. emoToast We boated eleven keepers in our short trip. Had one five lber, two four lb class fish and three or four more in the three lb class. Our best five would have been 20.50 lbs. Not bad at all for only five and a half hours of fishing. Jerry had grand kids coming to visit so he had to leave at 4:00 oclock for granddad duty. emoBigSmile

Enjoyed our afternoon Jerry, we will have to do it again some time. emoThumbsup Jmax

Here are a couple of our keepers....
