Took my grand daughter to Lowell on Saturday evening. Fishing was pretty slow at first. We caught a few bass, a few crappie, and then about an hour before dark the bass really started hitting. I'm not sure if I just figured out where to be or if they just started biting, but I caught several and had 3 big ones break me off. The highlight, though, was when my grand daughter caught a catfish over 7 lbs.

Most of you know that I'm not a big fan of catfish, but my GD was stoked. She was dancing around the boat wanting to show the fish to everyone who came by. The toothless Smile says it all I guess. I guess I should mention that other than casting out the bobber and netting the fish, she did everything else her self.

She's got a great teacher and now you will just need to find a recipe to make that Cat taste like the best fish fry ever. Way to go Grandpa![Wink] Can I call you Grandpa more often now?[laugh]
Keep those young one's excited![fishin]

Great job. I need to find a new spot out there for cats with my 4 yr old grandson. My go to spot for them on the east side has skunked us the last two times.

I don't know if it makes a difference or not, but FYI, they are spawning right now.

The one my GD caught was spewing eggs all over the boat.
