Hey all, I recently purchased a boat with a motor that has power tilt on it and am concerned that there doesn't seem to be a release on the motor to allow it to kick up should you hit a rock or hard object the way my tiller steer did. Is this the way all console steer power tilt motors are? Not good for the lower unit if so.

I believe most have a hydraulic relief valve that will allow fluid to pass during an impact. With that said it would be slow to react and the damage would likely be done.
