It's been 4yrs since I last hit the Berry. I usually hit the Gorge but decided on a wild Berry trip. I'm looking for general info on where to go after kokes if anyone can guide me a little. Don't need help as far as what to use since I'm pretty much a tackle whore anyways. Will be launching from Strawberry Bay. [fishon]

From most of the posts on here lately. Everyone seems to be doing fairly well in the Narrows. So I think I would launch from the Soldier Creek side.

bduck the bigger fish are out in front of the small island and over towards the white dirt cliffs just troll around and you will find them they are out in the middle and not really by any land, hot color's are purple cotton candy , pink , white and also green , I've also done good with the cop car squids when its cloudy.

Thanks guys. I'm looking fwd to hitting the Berry. Also ready to escape this valley heat, hobbying around in the garage has me quitting early in the day and pushes me to an early nap. [

Hi mtncat1, you sure seem to have Strawberry nailed down. Any way I could talk you into helping us out for our Disabled Veteran fishing day on August 2nd? We sure could use more folks like you that can really show a veteran a great time. Shoot me a PM if you wouldn't mind.

Bduck, if you're available on August 2nd we sure could use more people like you to help us get our veterans out on the water and into some fish. Shoot me a PM if you would be interested in helping with this.

I'm headed up Saturday as well and still deciding between our traditional Soldier Creek side or hitting Strawberry bay and the loop of the Narrows.
What is the consensus on for the best Koke action?

I like the main lake unless the weather is bad.solidercreek side can really heat up at times plus there is better rainbow action so I guess it's sixes

I fished mainly out of the Strawberry Bay area yesterday. Marked a lot of fished on the finder no matter where I went. Got 14 cutts to the boat, lost as many as 6, and 2 kokes which one was a descent 2 1/2lbs. Most of the morning was a little breezy and as I ventured thru the narrows heading to Soldier Creek side, the winds had picked up. Got to the point I couldn't control the boat unless I used the main motor. This is when I packed it up and called it a day. What a day and a way to beat the valley heat.

Did you think your old hunting buddy was feeding you BS on where to fish?[:/] I feel bad, NOT!

Your cool Pete. Contemplating a Saturday trip and hit the Soldier Creek side early on. If the wind didn't come up I would have been out there until big red dropped. With the depths over there, I would think the kokes would hang in that area.[

the fish need to take a rest some time.
I'm going Friday if FedXe brings my fishfinder need to make sure it is working befor I go to FG Monday
I was at the berry Monday we got a lot of fish we had 4 lines out
and 3 times we had fish on all the rods at the same time.
we did not get into the Kokes till 11am then we never went over 10 mins. without catching one. when we went home at 1:30 they were still bitting. I have 3 elect. downriggers and that helps.
my wife thinks we catch more fish when using the elect. trolling motor. I love the minn kota I pilot link
