Went to the Gorge for a few days last week and it was hot for us. I was worried about the full moon but that turned out to be a myth. It took a little time to find good schools of kokanee and the proper depth the first day but after that we did really well. Launched at Buckboard every day and fished from the middle of the bay to breeze hill. Didn't need to go any farther north or south than that. The hot lure for us was a RMT pearlescent squid with a RMT pink fire ice dodger. Caught a few on double glow pink squids but not near as many as the pearl. Fished from 40 to 65 feet and soon discovered all the bigger fish were deep. We caught all the biggest fish at least 55 feet deep and some as deep as 65. It was fast action at lower depths but fish were smaller. It was more fun catching the lunkers so we began targeting them in the deep water.
We all had our limits by Friday so we went swimming and sight seeing in the canyons on Saturday. Awesome fishing trip!
