Hey guys,

I have a Honda 9.9 BABS-11XXXXXX that is having an electrical issue. I have isolated the problem to the base of the CDI. There is a bad connection either in the pins of the CDI or the wiring harness. Both items are pricey or hard to get so I am trying to really figure out which it is before replacing.

Has anyone had this problem before? Any ideas on how to further narrow down this issue?

Also, if anyone out there has this model or ones close to it that may work and would be willing to let me swap out your CDI to troubleshoot that would be unbelievably awesome!

Long shot, I know. I just hope I don't have to buy both parts to get this thing where I want it.

Thanks for any insight [cool]

I have a Honda and had to have a new head gasket and main gasket replaced. Roger's Performance Marine just north of SLC did a great job and he was honest with me. I'd just take it to him and ask him to test it. He is a certified Honda repairman and should be able to isolate the problem for you at minimal cost. Honda parts are notoriously hard to come by unless from a Honda dealer. Not to mention diagrams, etc. Anyway, hope you can get it fixed.
