Bass fishing for me this week was very slow. Fished 4 days before Sunday and all I really had to show were sore ankles from doing the "Chickamonga Shuffle", my name for the teeter-totter straddling motion that goes hand in hand with fishing this amusement park atmosphere of jetskis, pontoons, houseboats and wakeboarders(side note, if I don't wave back at you and your kids on tubes as you pass by within 20 feet of me fishing, with a 1/4 mile of open water to the other side of you, please take it personally Smile

So decided to try catfishing, something I hadn't done since moving here a few years ago. I took tips I had received(thanks rsimms and jjellison) in the past and decided to try it. I told my wife to have the leftover burgers and ribs and grabbed the chicken breasts that were for dinner off the counter and off I went.

What a blast! Went up by nuke plant about 6:30 pm and within 5 mins had my first fish. Fished a couple hours and ended up boating 9 cats. The largest was only about 8#s, the smallest about 2. Most were 4-6 lbs. Did lose a couple including one that broke off. Water 85 degrees, all fish caught on a 3 way swivel , 2 oz sinker and chicken breast on a 5/0 circle hook. All fish released. Very nice end to a busy week on the lake. By 9:30 last night the water was the flattest I have seen it in a week wth very few other boats on the water.

I'm hooked(pun intended) and now just want to find bigger ones...
Jim
