Going up to Anderson Ranch for the first time this weekend for bass. I'm not looking for spots or baits just a general idea on what to expect and wanted to know do these stay shallow this time of you or should I focus on deeper stuff?

Thanks for any help. Tight lines.

It's tough when it's hot in the summer. Top water in the morning then plastics at 20 ft. I like senkos. Might find fish in the willows were the river comes in. They like shad raps if they're in a chasing mood, probably way hot for that. The skeeters are ferocious. The water is crystal clear and 70 degrees. Good luck

What he said. Surface temp was closer to 80 a couple of weeks ago.

So is there any largemouth in there or just smallies? I know the state record is out of there but never hear anything about them.

Different Anderson. No largemouth. Smallies, rainbow, kokes, bull trout, perch, suckers and squaw fish. Some claim there are craw dads, but in 30 years of fishing there I have yet to see one.
