I had a trip today with a gentleman wanting to learn a little about some ledge fishing on Weiss Lake. I got lucky enough to win the Weiss Lake Anglers tournament a few weeks ago with 21.70 lbs., and was a little concerned if these fish were still producing on the ledges that I had fished then. We first went riding around so I could show him a few areas that produce some great early morning topwater action but not fish them because of the main focus being the ledges. We went to one of the ledges that had produced well for me in the tournament and guess what, the area was still holding some good quality fish. This was not one of the best days to fish ledges with wind blowing and cloudy skies, but at least we were still able to boat a few good fish. The ledge bite on this lake is normally a slow process, but the quality it produces when you do find them makes the slow bite well worth it. The fish we got today came on 3/4 oz. Jigs by Choo Choo Lures in Kudzu and Oh Baby colors, and a few on a carolina rig worm also. Have fun, Mike Carter www.anglingadventures.info
