We decided to head to the lake yesterday evening. Put in around 5ish... Wind was terrible... way worse than I thought it might be. Pulled up to the first spot and decided to let the wind push us across the area I wanted to fish.

first cast caught a nice 3.5.... A few casts later a 3... Daughter lost one just after that. So it was exciting to see they were biting the large worms we were offering. I missed a couple of bites and after a little while moved to another spot where I believe I saw Jmax leave just a few minutes earlier. At least I believe that was him that waved as he went by in that beautiful red and silver boat.

On that spot my daughter almost immediately hooked up with a nice fish... a little over 4lbs though it fought like it was bigger.... She then backed that fish up with another 3 right behind it. I was feeling pressure now... We moved again to get out of the wind for a while.... that cove had nothing going on but some fish started to school out in the middle chasing shad.... so I made a mile long cast with a sexy dog and boom.... it blew up the second it hit the water... not a huge fish... a little under 3 but still fun to get those top water strikes. I have to get me a new net as my net got tangled up in the three treble hooks and caused a birds nest.... I had to just cut the line and move on... I will dig that out later.

The schooling fish disappeared while I wrestled with the net nonsense... We moved again... Back to the mouth of HBSP... I was throwing a spinner bait around the downed trees and picked up another 3. Then hung up the spinner on a tree limb and broke it off. Time to go...

We loaded up around 7:30 and went to eat....

Not a bad evening with my daughter... had fun all but the wind and that net deal... Gotta get a rubberized net.
