Open to some ideas at what depths to try on a downrigger for Kokes at Strawberry? First week in June they were at 25-27 feet schooled up at all. But two months have passed and things have changed.

August 2nd at the DAV we marked a lot of schooled up fish in the 35’-47’ foot range, with singles coming in as shallow as 25’. Hope this helps.

You are right things have changed. I have been doing fairly well all summer for Kokes, until last week. They disappeared. Has anyone else had the same experience? Early in the season, we did well on Soldier Creek, then moved to the meadows at Strawberry, but last Wednesday I caught 13 cutts but could not get even one Koke. If anyone has figured them out lately, it would be helpful. PM would be appreciated.

Last week, koke fishing was slow for me. The ones I did catch were 25-40'. Another real obvious trend I noticed was we caught a lot of cuts on the Strawberry side while targeting koke. On the Soildercreek side, we caught mostly rainbows using the same gear.

Smart fishermen know that underwater temperature is key to locating fish.
Kokes like 52 and 54 deg. water. I will fined, where the 54 deg temp.
is and will set at least one downrigger ball at that depth.
