Launched from the American Fork Boat Harbor this morning and just outside of the harbor I found water that was 2.1 feet deep. Because I have a prop guard I wasn't too concerned, but I would not launch a large boat from there.

Fished the Bubble Up for a couple hours with two of my granddaughters. Catching was Ok (channel cats, mud cats, carp and one white bass) and had several break off when they went under the pipe.

Do the have the shallow hazard marked??
The whole area is one big shallow hazard, so not possible to mark it all. They do have one large buoy that the man at the check-in both warns folks not to throttle up until reaching it. He said that some have damaged their props.

You can adjust your depthfinder to have the motor skag as the 0' and then you can watch for incoming prop damage with a little room to wiggle.

But I know since Kent is an accountant that this would not be an option for him as it isn't a true measure of depth.

Glad you got out and caught some fish with the granddaughters.

Because the raising and lowering of my prop is a manual process (and a heavy one at that) I rely on my prop protector and it rarely lets me down.
