The last few days has been some great fishing on both Guntersville and Weiss Lakes. The Snag Proof Frog bite on Monday was a lot better that I had expected. I fished a lot of areas that should have had grass but didn't, but when I did find the right grass the action was to where you didn't have to worry if the fish had the Frog or not, you just had to hold on. Tuesday I got out with a couple from Tennessee for a couple of hours of just relaxing time on the water and catch a few fish for their first trip to Guntersville. The fish they were able to catch came from deep grass lines with 10"worms. I then had a short night trip on the "Big-G" Tuesday night, and with the Choo Choo Lures spinnerbait pattern being a little slower than the past few weeks we still got some great hits and was also able to land a few on the spinnerbait. There was one time that night that a very huge fish decided she had somewhere else better to go than in the boat, at least we got to see just how big she was, and this was a very big fish. This is the exciting part about night fishing when one of these "Hawgs" Slam your spinnerbait and you get to feel how strong and how hard these fish hit at night. Today I got out with a gentleman from Georgia to do some ledge fishing on Weiss Lake. This pattern on Weiss is still holding strong and has been all summer. The main lures were once again Kudzu jigs by Choo Choo Lures and shakey head worms. These were some great quality fish, especially the big Spots, and the 2 "GIANT" Flathead Catfish were some good quality also, about 40-50 lbs of quality each!!! Have fun, Mike Carter
