Haven't been up lately, but a few weeks ago, it was obvious that the weeds are coming on strong this year. I would think that the dam is locked up for 20-30ft and most shallow areas too.
Your best bet is to get on a boat or float and fish the edge of those thick weeds.
If you're grounded, walk that steep side (can be a long walk) until you find a break in the weeds. The northeast side in front of the big rock is usually where they break.
The southeast area should have some open patches along the shore.

I was up there about 3 weeks ago. The weeds around the shore were pretty bad. The fishing wasn't much different. I fished from a pontoon along the east shoreline, caught a tiger and a rainbow trolling the weed lines and then a few cutts using a jet diver at about 30 feet more out towards the middle.
I have a hard time believing shore fishing can be that great. If you have a boat you can probably find them but it wasn't that fast when I was there.

If you can find an area where you can cast without tangling in the weeds, it shouldn't be a problem.
In my previous post, I mentioned the big rock on the NE side. Right around that area, fishing a couple of feet off the bottom is sure to get bites. That area always gives.

In the past years, both the Co-op and Junction roads up to Currant Creek have featured some of Utah's roughest stretches of washboard. [
