Hit Strawberry today 8/8. Had a delay in Daniels Canyon because they are putting pea gravel down on the highway.

Forty seven degrees driving in and wind out of the northwest from the get go. Never did calm down. Not real strong but steady. Fished from 7:45 until noon.

Launched at Mud Creek (pretty shallow and not that easy to launch). Went out the the main part of the lake and headed north about 1/3 of a mile and about 250 yards from shore and 30ft deep. Used white or off colored white tube jigs tipped with a worm. Couldn't keep them off (all slot Cutts) even had a double with two poles out. Between the two of us we must have caught close to 40 fish and missed almost that many. We let the jigs hit the bottom and then a couple cranks of the reel. Great day fishing.

Thanks for posting your report and info on Daniels canyon. Sounds like you guys had a good trip. Were you fishing from as boat or a float tube?

Thanks for the heads up on the road chipping.
I am rather ocd about pulling the boat on gravel or brand new chipped roads.
Chipped finnish and to many broken wind shields. Even if you slow down to a crawl there are people more than willing to throw rocks at you a t 60mph.

We were fishing from a boat.

I think the construction is on going during the night. We had to wait for about 15 minutes on the way up. But there was no construction on the way down. The sweepers were going on the way up clearing the rocks.

Thanks for the reports. Were you anchored fishing vertical or just drifting?
