Hey guys I'll be taking my wife and two little boys up to the Unitas for a couple days the first of next week. I haven't been up there in several years I'll be taking my fishing gear including my new fly rod (my first attempt at fly fishing). Any fishing tips or certain gear I should take? Also any favorite lakes to camp at? Any suggestions would be great! Thx guys!

Mosquito, elk hair caddis, royal wolf, and black woolly buggers.

I haven't been up there since 2 weeks ago but went to mirror lake and lily lake. Pounded the fish hard on my fly rod in a float tube.

Also olive woolly buggers I find work really well. If using spinning gear, try spoons and spinners. Also for kids you can rig up a fly and a bubble with them. They love to cast and retrieve and the fish aren't too picky either. One good thing about the Uintas along highway 150 is that there are so many lakes in that area. Find a good camping spot and use that as a base camp then hit the different lakes you want to visit. Stop at the ranger station in Kamas and pick up a map of the area. Or if going through Wyoming stop at the Bear River ranger station.

We fished several lakes last weekend and ddi quite well with yellow flies and small silver spinners.
