Sent JMergen a PM that I wanted to fish the dogfight this evening with him. My first tourny from a boat; fished a couple from my kayak. We found some fish on a grass flat but werent able to put any in the boat. I start with a chatterbait and nothing. Moved to a jig. Tap tap...i set the hook...and my line breaks at my leader knot!!! Thats never happened to me. Clean break right at the knot. Fish had some weight behind her but she was burried in the weeds. Sun moves behind a cloud and i start throwing a spook. On my first cast i get a blow up but didn get it. 15 minutes later another blow up but nothing. I start getting tired but cant stop because they seem to like it. Have a real nice one come clean out of the water, but again didnt take it. Then Jim sets the hook on a nice fish, im getting ready to get the net and she pulls off. 0-5. Could have been a good night. Oh well. Had fun and thanks a ton to Jmergen. Congrats to the winners.
