I caught this green sunfish last Saturday just after dark at Quail Creek. It was 11.25 inches and 1lb 2oz. I didn't keep it so I wont qualify for the catch and keep record which is 15 oz. The standing C&R record is 10.5 inches. I will apply for the C&R record. I caught it while fishing for bass and took a full size skirted bass jig with a craw trailer. Bass fishing was slow but the fish we caught were quality.

Congratulations on the new C&R record, I didn't even know there were green sunfish in that lake.

Sweet! That huge green sunfish is as cool as the big bass you usually get.

Simply awesome. There is a special place in my heart for green sunfish. That one takes the cake, what a pig!

It has been my experience as well that bass gear catches the larger green sunfish.

Awesome fish! That's how all my best perch and walleye have come too (while targeting bass). Very cool.
