Took Mom to Disney World last week for her 60th birthday. While there I booked two guided bass fishing trips, one for Mom and one for Dad.
9-10-2014
Me and Mom went out Wednesday morning with Ric our guide. We took the pontoon boat with live bait option (shiners). First stop Mom gets us going with a small one and right after that I land a toad. The bass should have went 6 lbs but it was very poor. All of the bigger bass we caught were very skinny due to the really warm, shallow water. We fished shiners all morning and fished all around the Boardwalk and even into the Epcot lake. I got another fish in 5 lb range and mom finished us up with a nice one around the same size. We only fished for 2 hours and boated 21 largemouth. Not too bad. Mom got me 12 to 9 on the numbers.
9-11-2014
Thursday morning I took Pops out. We had the Nitro artificial trip. We were fishing wacky rigged Zoom worms and we did pretty good. I got another one over 4.5 lbs and me and pops were neck and neck on numbers for most of the day. For the last 30 minutes Ric got us a few shiners from another boat and Pops got a nice soft shell turtle and a HUGE bass. That bass should have went 6-7 lbs but again was very skinny. We ended up with 13 bass in the boat and Pops got me 7 to 6. Again not bad for 2 hours of fishing with artificials.
Awesome week with the folks (and the wife) and the fish trips were just icing on the cake.
