If nepotism wasn't ingrained so deeply in Utah culture maybe a lot of what happened in Blanding would have been avoided. Oh well always blame the feds. Worked wonders for the last 2 AG's as part of the Utah Mafiosa.

Yep I remember this story from years ago, Prior to the incident Ive been to there rock shop pretty neat place I still have the stalagmite crystal I bought there. Had I known the family was pillaging the area and reselling Artifacts I think we would have kept on driving.

If Im not mistaken guy who owned the place killed himself over the federal charges and the wife tried to sue the FBI & BLM but I dont recall if she won or not. Crazy situation to say the least.

One thing I can not understand is why did the BLM with all the power of the federal govement behind it, just walk away from that whole Bundy thing?

By doing so has not the BLM shot callers just embolden these local governments [ all over the west not just Utah] to take a stand in favor of their interpretation of the thousands of federal rules, laws, and regulations?

Remember the Branch Davidians? Too high of price to get in a shoot out with Bundy and his gang of supporters. I think the Feds approach since Waco is that these criminals usually aren't extremely violent until they're threatened. Unfortunately they guessed wrong in this case as his supporters went on to later murder 2 Las Vegas Cops and 1 innocent bystander. I have some land in the Mohave down that way. All I got to say is I won't take kindly to any of his cows stealing my grass.
