Was looking to see if I could get any info on deer creek? We are going to the Heber city area in a couple weeks and will have an afternoon free and want to float the boat. Is this a good time of year to fish there? should we troll for trout, fish for bass or what? We have never fished there so any info on this body of water would be helpful? Maybe we should go the berry for a couple of hours instead. Who knows

I have not been there this fall have been waiting for the power boats to leave but trolling for trout should be good in 2 weeks.
do you have downriggers how do you fish? do you have a gps fish finder
Last fall I did good west of the main boat ramp and rainbow bay. the rainbows are good eating. I don't like eating the rainbows out of strawberry.

If you want to catch a lot of fish go to Strawberry. you can PM me I can tell you what to use and where to go. sometimes you can go where all the boats are.

Fished it about a week ago. Was slaying the bass in the early morning. Then used my new downriggers for the first time and caught one nice fat bow. Not sure if I was using the right baits or techniques with the down riggers since it was my first time. Still glad we got one though

CD 7 rainbow rapalas will work. Also gold kasmasters. Wallsburg Bay and the west shore to the dam is where I'd start.

Hi SirSimba,

Nice on the fall bass fishing. What were the bass hitting? Any nice ones (>13")?

Thanks

Here are the spoils we kept. Id say 9 to 10 in were the biggest. It was some fast fishing until sunup, then things really slowed down. They were all caught on those spinner baits with the skirts on em, we used green. Also caught a few on night crawlers. They were jumping all around us like crazy too. Good fun, we launched from the ramp near the island and fishing the rocky shore.

Looks like the color of that rainbow is getting ready for spawning.

I was Trolling for trout at Deer Creek today and only got one bow.
Saw a lot of fish on the fishfinder.
keep changing lures had my downriggers down all over the place 15 to 75 ft. down.Don't know if it was bad because of all the rain we had or if it was me.
It was cold and windy, saw two boats. A lot different than Strawberry.
