So, I asked about this a week or so ago and got over a thousands reads, but not one reply.

Does no one have any information?
Is it a taboo subject on this board?
Did some one else already ask and it turn into a big fight that got locked?

What I was wondering is if the DWR no longer supports the stream access map as they did after the passing of HB 141 which took away our stream access rights.

I have gone to the website, the page is still there, but comes up blank.

I have tried in IE and Chrome and neither works.

If I am out of line for asking this would one of the mods let me know.

Try downloading it to Google Earth. It works there.

I've also noticed that the stream access map doesn't work. I think maybe it was a couple months ago when I looked but thought it was a temporary issue. I guess not. Not sure if it's really Utah not wanting it's citizens to have the rights of ordinary American though?

It says right on the page "download for Google Earth". This is the only way you can view it at this time.

Have you thought to ask the DWR?

If I have a problem with Home Depot, I typically don't start asking questions at the Quilted Bear. I go straight to Home Depot.

Well, how about Lowes, would you ask there?

You want answers about fishing, you ask people who fish.

I would wager the people on this site know more about what is working on the DWR website than they do.

As a matter of fact, I got answers to my question here, but not from you. You did not answer my question.

Actually, BearLakeFishGuy is a DWR employee - although he is not in IT and didn't answer it through any official DNR channels. [cool]

I took a look at the private securered map from the DWR site.

It does not show a good private stretch of water in Southen Utah that both the State and the property owner have spent money on to make it more accessible to the public. It has fence bridges with signs and everything.

I fish that stretch all the time, and I have caught 20" Browns, Rainbows, and Cutts out of it, and a few Smallmouth.

So I don't know how reliable or up dated those maps are.

Maybe they give the property owners the option of "not" having their property put on the map. Seems to me like that would be the right thing to do.

Would I ask someone at Lowes if Home Depot was having a problem with content on their website?

No. I wouldn't. I'd still ask someone at Home Depot.
Glad you got your answer. Hope it helps you out.

Castnshoot -- which section of river are you talking about?

I see what you did there [Wink]

This is why I seldom post on this website anymore and never post about where I fish or how it was.
[signature]
You seldom post fish reports because PBH wouldn't ask someone at Lowe's if he had a question about Home Depot?

Wow!

FWIW, the page worked fine for me....as soon as I hit the "Download to Google" button.

PBH, I did not say River, but you may have guessed right.[Smile]

The word "stretch" gave it away. I've never seen anyone mention that they were fishing a certain stretch of reservoir or lake. [Wink]

Yes stretch gave away a lot but adding SMB with the trout he pretty much spoon-fed those that fish southern Utah the water. I just read PBH's question as trying to narrow the location on that water without necessarily giving away the water to those not familiar with southern Utah fishing. "which section of river are you talking about?"
Not which river are you talking about? Maybe I overestimate PBH's knowledge of the area but I doubt it.

Ok, enough about that stretch of water, and back to Troll"s post.

Can a private property owner involved in the access program opt out of having their property listed on the DWR access map?

If no body here knows the answer I'll call Lowes.[Smile]

I think all of you misunderstood my question about "which stretch" of water.

I could care less who caught what and where. I'm not looking for a "hot spot" to fish.

My reasoning was due to the comments quoted above. I would like to know what section of river this is so that I can better understand the access -- is this stretch truly private? Is it owned by the state? What type of access has truly been granted to the public? Was this stretched rehabilitated? Can a private property owner involved in the access program opt out of having their property listed on the DWR access map?

If I knew the what section this was, I'll bet I could very quickly find out some answers that may be very beneficial to all of us. I have a pretty good contact at Home Depot.

Maybe get a better response asking catnshoot via PM rather then on the main board. Looks like he wants to keep it a secret. Your motives are good but everyone else might not be so innocent. Just my 2¢.

That would be me. Please post the location, directions, and flies they are currently taking. Pictures would be nice as well.

This is strictly for science, I assure you.
