I decided to use Rocky's advice and try for some crappie at the Port ramp. The gate was open and I made my way out to the end of the docks. I stayed for probably two hours and pulled in three small crappies and missed a few others. I was then told I had to leave by an old guy on a tractor before he locked the gate. Not a bad trip, but I wanted to fish the docks longer. Everything I got was near the bottom. I couldn't get anything to hit a bobber rig. I then briefly cast some jigs around the dam arm, but I don't think I had the right colors for bass.

What gate did he lock and what time of day was it? Locking the Gate doesn't sound good.

The small gate near the first few docks as your walk out.

It's the gate to the private slips. There are four or five public slips near the shore to use when launching/trailering and then the gate to all the other slips.

The only access to the port ramp docks is by boat. The contractor pulled the walkway and slips on Friday.
