Alvin and I had not fished the Riverpark since May and with the cooler temps setting in we figured it was time for the fall bite to start down there. We did our usual beat the bank fall pattern today. Bait of choice was the pig n jig. The first 45 minutes were really good, we boated 10 bass and 2 blue cats and missed a few more. Then things slowed WAAAY down. The next hour and a half was tough. We finally made a move up river to a bank we normally don't fish and we finally found a 50 yard stretch holding some more fish.
For our efforts tonight we boated 18 spots, 1 smallie, 2 largemouth, 2 blue cats, a drum, a rock bass, a white stripe and a green sunfish. Nothing big, but good eater size spots. All fish came on pig n jigs fished on the bank except the white and green sunfish came on a big Sammy. What the green sunfish was going to do with Sammy is anyone guess. emoScratch Not too bad for 3 hours of fishing. Water temp was mid 70's and the current was WIDE OPEN, and so was the wind.
