Back to back weekends on the water with great weather. Madi didn't have that much for homework/projects this weekend so she was ready for a day on the water. Headed out with targeting Smallies in mind so headed to spots more to their liking since trying to find the LMB kicked my tail last weekend.
Worked. Well at least better than last weekend. Still nothing like last year this same time but a fish is a fish. We landed 18 total. Only 2 were LMB.
If one doesn't like to drop shot then one isn't going to catch much. It was pretty much drop shot and catch or don't catch. Super picky. Same spots Madi would be roping them in on the DS and I would drop down a grub and jig it. She was catching I wouldn't get a nibble. Weird... Both of the LMB were caught on a grub off steep cliff walls. NOTHING was seen by eye or on the sonars in anything less than ~15 feet of water. TONS of bait balls in the back of the coves and zero bass chowing down in them.
Only 2 of the Smallies were caught on something other than a drop shot. Done this before with LMB but a first for SMB. One cast, one crank and 2 hooks did the job [cool]
