The wife and I went over to CJ for 5 days, Monday-Friday, 10/13-17. Monday / Tuesday were a blowout wind 25+mph. Wednesday through Friday were great fishing days. We fished mostly for smallmouth and, for us, did fairly well. Caught a couple dozen over 12", with 6-8 in the 15"+/- range. Water temp was about 60 degrees.
The fishing was best on Wednesday when a big pressure ridge blew in, seemed to trigger the bite. On Friday morning the wind picked up through the narrows so we wind-drifted the western shore line and picked up a bunch of bass.
We caught the majority of the bass on Carolina rigged brown worms working the bottom in 20-40 feet of water, targeting humps & drops.
Wife caught about a dozen trout on cranks. We saw a number of dead 10" trout at the Cottonwood boat ramp on Tuesday - had to wonder if these were recent plants and had died.
