I hate to beat a dead horse and if you don't want to hear senseless dribble pass this one up but I just need to vent cause I didn't want to do it on the river.
Where has our sense of etiquette gone? Was on the middle Provo (I know its's the Provo) and had a real hotshot just start casting over the top of me without saying a word. I watched him do it down stream to a couple and I prayed he wouldn't head my way but here he came. 99% of the people on the Provo are half way decent when it comes to space but this guy pissed me off. I'm not the type to confront so I just let it steam inside me then I get over it, like I said I just had to vent somewhere and thought you poor folks should hear me...sorry. I'll keep going back there and I'll keep dealing with ass holes now and then, I just hope some who don't know how to be courteous on the river might read this and get the hint. Had a really good morning on the river so all was not lost, started getting pretty windy so it was time to leave anyway. Sorry to put you through this...I feel much better now...won't have to spend any money on my therapist...thanks.

That sucks, but you should have vented on the guy who invaded your space!

I'm with Remo. No doubt some people have no respect for other anglers on the river. But I think it's mostly due to the fact that they believe they can get away with it. Feel free to vent, I think we all feel your pain. But saying nothing at the time just reinforces their confidence and they will continue to try and push the next guy around.

Glad to hear you had some luck despite the intruder!

Sorry to hear about the Delta Bravo, but hey, you had a good day on the water, fuggedaboutit! Don't let him get you down.

More importantly, did you notice if the fish are starting to hit egg/glo bug patterns up there yet?

That's exactly how it is at cj strike. I just take a couple deep breaths and Smile.

I agree with pointing out the fact they screwed up. Do it politely and that can really make them feel like crap because they really have no comeback.
Best trip I have had on the river, I am fishing with an indy. Guy walks up on other side with small boy and they begin skipping rocks right in my zone.
I Smiled and said, don't feel too bad, maybe mom could teach the boy how to do it. They left[Smile]

Do it politely and, if possible, with humor. If that doesn't work, pull out the pepper-spray and video camera. Smile Just don't spray upwind. Humor and/or pepper spray can fix most minor conflicts.

Things can get crazy on the Middle Provo. I have learned to try and be patience with people and just expect some rudeness.

Just yesterday I had just walked a long way in to a favorite hole and as I was walking up to it out in the field above and across the river there were two guys walking down (I thought all river access had to be at an access point). The stopped and watched me start fishing the hole and then continued to the bank right across from me and started fishing. There were no other anglers for several yards below or above be but they obvious wanted to fish that hole. The even sunk a sick pack of beer to cool in the water and to signal that they weren't going anywhere. They were fishing an easy roll cast form me across the river. I fished for a bit to see if they would move but I just wished them a nice day enjoy your beer and headed somewhere else.

I have meet a lot more courteous and good people fishing the Provo but it's the jerks that stand out more.
