I had a lot of errands to run this AM, so it was afternoon before Cuonthelake and I made it out for a fishing scouting trip. Afternoon fishing is a little windy, but the fish seemed not to mind. We caught in the neighborhood of 45 crappie and most were keeper sized. Only had about 7 or 8 throwbacks size. We released all fish. I also caught a pretty little Smallmouth bass on a bone white/chartreuse bobby garland jig.

1/32 oz jigs worked better than 1/16 oz or even the 1/24 oz that I tried some. Candi is a crappie fishing machine. I showed her a couple more places to fish when she is by herself. Of course, she beat my socks off again today and I loved every minute of it. A teacher always wants to see his/her students do well.

After fishing for 8 out of the last 9 days, it is time for the old Dk to take a few days off to rest. We have a tournament coming up this Sunday and I want to be rested up for it. emoBig

Thanks for going with me this afternoon, Candi. Fishing was great and the fellowship even better. A good way to start your vacation by catching fish. I'll see you on the water again soon.

emoBig emoGeezer
