The Warrior Princess and I decided to enjoy the last of the nice weather on Jordanelle today. We fished north of Hailstone in 65' of water where we found their winter headquarters. Fishing was not fast and furious however Jeanine caught a nearly foot long and a 16" brown. Although we did find perch as shallow as 35' the majority have migrated deep. The only bait the worked well was a #6 hook with a piece of crawler soaked in crawdad scent. Perch meat produced very few which I found surprising. Tried a variety of spoons, jigs, and plastics, nothing outperformed Jeanine using a worm. Took home the brown and a dozen perch for Monday tacos. Water temps in the 50's clarity was poor, some chunks of moss floating around from turnover, all in all a killer fall day with warm temps and light breeze.
