Kirman Lake of the Eastern Sierra catching huge Lahontan Cutthroat Trout in a Sevylor Inflatable Boat. This is how to turn a back country fishing experience into an on the water day. This lake is located off the 108 freeway near Bridgeport California and a moderate difficulty 3 mile hike to the lake. Once at the lake I could see the monster brook trout just sitting around in shallow water. This was disappointing. I was hoping they would be done with the spawn but they were still working on it and not interested in the lures. Check out my underwater video featuring these heart attack brook trout. Once out on the water I gave some small crank baits a try by Dynamic Lures. I don't think they were getting into the zone though. So I put on the Thomas Cyclone and in no time at all I was battling a beautiful Lahontan Cutthroat. Well watch the video to see how the rest of the day went.
