Hey guys,
I got up early this morning and hit up a community pond close by. I had some shrimp on one rod hoping for a catfish and a Blue Fox on the other. I threw the shrimp out first and before I could even get the Blue Fox reeled in the first time I had a small 10" rainbow on the shrimp. I didn't get anything for awhile and just about froze but then got a big hit on the shrimp again. I'm not sure of the exact length but it's the biggest fish I've caught so far. I know he's tiny compared to some of the fish you guys get but I just started fishing this fall. Definitely fun reeling in the big 'bows.

Hopefully you get a chance at the brood stock at the community ponds this year....that would be a fun surprise!

Congrats friend! I know the feeling - I haven't been fishing near as long as a lot of the regulars around here, but regardless I felt quite accomplished the first time I ever caught a rainbow trout over 11" Smile To date my biggest is a brown trout that was pushing 18" out of the lower Provo River. Tiny by some people's standards but he sure seemed huge to me Smile

So far they only tossed some brood stock bows in mantua [crazy]. I'm surprised they haven't toss any in sandy pond. I remember last year they toss them in there like in September or October but it's November now and thinking of that, they might have no ugly snakes for the ponds this year.

Congratulations! Nice fish.

Fishing is addictive, but the good thing is that it keeps getting better and better. You're on the right road.

Nice fish my friend! I was reading a fishing blog the other day that talked a little bit about this very thing. First we want to catch A fish. Then we want to catch A LOT of fish. Then we want to catch THE fish. Much like that nice bow you brought to net, that is THE fish! For now. Buddha teaches that desire is the root of all suffering. In that case, we are all glad that you have joined us because misery loves company. Check out the link for blog post I am talking about. And check out some of his other posts as well. Very talented writer from my neck of the woods.
