I drove past Mantua this afternoon and sure enough the pond is capped all but a small hole along the the west dyke.Please all be safe and have a great and safe holiday season and coming year. Wait till the ice is safe before venturing out.

[cool]Yes, yes it is... Pretty much everywhere but Jordanelle and maybe Deer Creek should have safe ice by New Years. I think even the harbors at Utah Lake will be good to go. Here is the ice making forcast:

You beat me on the report, I took yesterday off and didn't see it... thanks for the report.... I sort of think everyone is a little over optimistic on being able to fish this by new years... It's not cold enough to form ice very fast this year... I hope I'm wrong, but most years it takes a lot of cold to tack things up solid very fast... Hope I get to eat crow on that one, but I'm not planning on too much ice time this holiday... Merry Christmas J

Went by Mantua today and most of the ice is gone, but hopefully with the cooling this weekend it will be back soon.

Who's got waxworms? Is the Sinclair stocked? Walmart still didn't have any last I checked. Might even hit Petsmart, they aren't seasonable about it.
They said it was 3 inches, but after a few butt-puckering chuckles, my boy said "enough" BUT - he caught the first perch of the season!

Thanks ol' friend, hope you have a great holiday as well. I drove past PV and Causey yesterday around 11:00 am and both lakes are still open, crazy year for sure. Guess I'm going to have to get the boat out again.
