Looks like Saturday should be a great day for the tournament at Scofield !!

We will arrive early on Saturday so that we can get people signed in and fishing starting at 6 a.m. You are welcome to arrive later if you wish.

Hopefully the weather cooperates so that the roads and parking are not a mess.

Check out the attached flyer for information on the ice fishing tournament.

Thanks and see you soon.

When you catch the chubs just don't let them go to waste on the ice. Try this recipe for Chub fish taco's. Don't knock it until you try it! Check out the recipe on this blog. -

If my fish finder comes back from the repair shop I might end up going.

Good morning,
I was wanting to go up there and fish the tournament. But i was wondering if i could make it u there with a 2 wheel drive truck? (My jeep broke down day before yesterday. ) I have never been there before so not sure what to expect. Its about the the only place with fishable ice that I know of . And im chompin at the bit to go. Any knowledge on this matter would be very helpful. Thanks Woody

I would think that you'd be able to make it up there as long as the weather is okay.

I think i will give it a try. So if one of you all see me stuck in the snow bank could you come give me a tug. I just got a new sonar. And im dying to try it. Thanks Woody

Does anybody know what the snow condition is on the lake after the last storms. Just wondering if a four wheeler or snowmobiles are the best for right now..

Snow is 6-8 inches. Snowmobiles and four wheelers should be fine.

Woody,
As long as you go to the lake through highway 6 and soldier summit 2 wheel drive will be fine. Through fairview canyon will not be as forgiving. I just left the lake an hour ago. Fishing was hot, weather was cold. 6-8 inches of snow and there were plenty of snowmobiles and four wheelers on the lake today.

I didn't see an entry fee with that flyer. Does anyone know if there is an entry fee? If so, how much? My wife and I are planning on coming up.

Entry fee is $15

For some weird reason I thought it was next week not tomorrow. Sounds like I'm out of the chub fest contest this year. I took my Taurus up there a few time with no problems just keep a shovel with you just in case.
