Had planned to go to Mantua today in order to miss the weekend hordes. Had most of my stuff already loaded in the Highlander this morning, but kept rememberizing stuff I needed. Then, having remembered, couldn't find...

Went all over trying to find my thermos, my hand warmer, and finally, my license. Drove myself crazy playing the "Whereinthe hell is..." game.

FINALLY got on the ice at 10 am. Saw a dozen or so tents on the eastern side and one lone guy clearing a hockey rink along the dam with a snow shovel. Set up just off the outlet in 14' of water, got wax worms to the bottom and immediately got a 10" perch. Ended up with a half dozen I kept and also released a pair of planter 'bows.

Action slowed to a stop about 1:00 and I called it quits. It was 37° with a pesky west wind and overcast the whole day. Felt colder due to the wind. Ice was just less than 5" but I did see a few football-sized open spots near the boat ramp that were not drilled leftovers.

No photos. One of the things I didn't have in my gear was my camera.

Bummer on the camera, but good job on the larger perch. Sounds like the ice is melting slightly.
