man, idk what to think about this. as a fisherman it's nice to think the prices will stay the same, on the downside, i used to work for the department for a few years and know it could definitely help them out.

I buy one every year, so it doesn't bother me. It would suck to pay this price for 5 years, miss a year and then be twice the cost when you came back, but then how likely is that to happen. It could be a pain if you move out of state for work then come back, or something like a missionary who is gone for 2 years.

They been discussing this for awhile now. IMHO They are just hanging carrots so the legislators will give them a raise. It will still be reviewed every 3 years and I bet it would go up every 3 years. We already have a three year lock on the price – just buy a 3 year license.

Quick question for everyone. I bought my 3 year license this time since I am tired of forgetting on Jan 1st and I wanted the 2 pole validation, but they gave me one year of the 2-pole and said I have to go get it added back on every year. Anyone else buy the validation and has anyone had it work for all 3 years?
I wonder if she just did it wrong and left it at 1 year for that part.

Bardic, that is correct. You are just buying the license for 3 years. Everything else has to be renewed each year. As far as this new idea for licensing, I don't see a problem with it. Fish and game is struggling to stay afloat and need some help.

That works, I'll have to remember to get that added on each year and that I have to use a single pole until I do, but at least I won't get out to a fishing spot and realize I can't fish at all.
I'm probably fine with the increase too. I would also assume these lower gas prices will help all around. Fisherman haven't gone out as much or to as many distant locations for the last few years because of the cost, which also means fewer fisherman coming to our state to fish. Plus the expense for game wardens and fish stocking trucks to drive the distances they have to probably adds up.
