I've been searching online for a while, but I can't seem to find much information on problems with underwater cameras.

I bought mine from Cabelas a few years back - it's the "Cabelas Advanced Anglers Underwater viewing System." Anyway, it has worked great for 2 or 3 years. But my last day fishing last season, the screen just kind of turned into a thin little line. The monitor is only 5.5" when everything is working correctly, but now it's just a tiny little line. The camera still works - I can see that within that tiny little line, it IS showing what the camera is seeing, I just don't know why it turned into this:

Any thoughts?

By that symptom, I'll guess it's technology is the old style video monitor of the cathode ray tube type which is like the old television as opposed to modern flat screen technology. If so, it acts like a failure of the vertical gain transistor unless an impact jarred the magnetic yoke loose. A television repair technician can solve that, but televisions are hardly ever repaired these days -- just replaced. I suspect that if the technology is that old, you will really like the modern advancements available today. I'm liking mine with it's excellent clarity and resolution.

Yeah, I'm fairly certain it's the monitor rather than the camera.

I just bought this a few years ago and it has already been discontinued. I have a gift of being able to buy a piece of technological equipment RIGHT before it becomes obsolete.

Thanks for the info!
