After Saturday's 3 perch day (and about 100 trout) I just had to try it again. Walked out from Joe Bush. Ice was 5 inches thick all the way to the clear ice - which was about 2 to 3 inches I'd guess. set up in 20ft and game on. Drop the jig to the bottom, count to three, set hook all day long. Half the time it was a race with the trout to get the jig down to the perch. Lots of the 8 to 9 inch Fish Lake "jumbo" perch but didn't catch any dinks. Throw in the occasional rainbow and splake and it was fun. Wax worms or crawlers on any jig you wanted to try.
Eventually moved out to deeper water 40 and 50 ft depths to see if any lakers were around. Got one pup and several nice splake and rainbows. I caught fish jigging from 20ft down to the bottom. Glow paddle bugs and tubes were the ticket here. Tipped with a crawler and a little smelly jelly. I tried perch and sucker meat but only had lookers.

I think the clear ice on the north end should be good by Saturday. Don't forgot your cleats!! You will need them.
