Grandkids were out of school today so I brought the ones that did not go boarding or skiing along with one of twin boys. It was so nice and lake was calm.
I saw one guy on a tube by the Island. Turns out he is a BFTer and he posted his report as well.
We fished from shore from the rocks east of the island. The first hour we had no bites with power bait, but when we added weight and cast farther out we started to get some hits. My son caught the first fish, an 18 inch fat rainbow. The rest of the fish, 4 more, were all about 12 inches. The kids had fun playing and catching a few fish. It was a nice afternoon. They liked chasing all the spiders that were all over the rocks.
Here are a few pics of the afternoon from shore.

Sounds like a great day! I need to get myself to the creek soon ice or no ice. Thanks for sharing.

You need to. They planted thousands of 10 inch rainbows there this fall. They are around if you can get to bite.

I forgot to mention that the water level is coming up. I thought we could walk to the island to shore fish but the gap is covered with water and ice. No walking across until the ice gets thicker.
